Specs:
Intel i7 7700k 4.2ghz
MSI Z270 PC MATE mobo
2x8 3200mhz trident g skill RAM
Kraken x62 liquid CPU cooler
EVGA gq 750w gold PSU
1TB HDD
250GB SDD
So I recently solved my BSOD/game crashing problem. Some of my windows 10 files must have been corrupted, so I reinstalled windows and tried a round of PUBG (player unknown battlegrounds) The game froze and I had to hard reset the PC but it DID NOT BSOD this time. I thought, what the heck I'll try disabling my XMP. It worked, I played for 2 hours afterwards with no issues.
Now my question is, what could have been going on? My xmp has been enabled before with no issues at 3200mhz, but I did also recently install that kraken x62 cooler, could this be taking voltage away from ram sticks causing them to become unstable? I have no clue looking for some possibilities. Thank you in advance.
