I recently updated my PC to use a GTX 1080ti and I'm trying to decide what to do with my GTX 980ti.

I play games and also do a lot of work in VR, and use tools like 3ds Max and Unreal Engine 4.

In general, is there any benefit to including the GTX 980ti in my machine as well? I am using 2 Monitors, and am running Windows 10 x64.

You could use the GTX 980ti to mine crypto-currencies, I currently use nicehash.com to mine, I make around $6-$8 a day mining with both my GTX 1080 and GTX 1060 (the 1060 being from a second computer that I used to use to stream). They're not the best or most efficient cards to mine with but you can make some money, with nicehash you can configure your cards to mine different algorithms. You can use sites like...
No point. You can't get the two cards to work together in SLI, as that requires two identical GPUs. You can use each separately, but I don't see where you would need two powerful cards, each running a different graphically demanding app or game at the same time. Then there is the power requirements and heat issues that comes with two cards.
