A couple of days ago, I was looking on eBay for a new card to buy for my PC, and I saw the GTX 1070's were hanging around the $550 - $650 price range, and I was eager to purchase one. But I didn't have enough funds to, so I was going to come back in a couple days with the money to buy one. But when I went to the item that I had put on watch, the price had risen from $590, to $830. This has me very confused, as other websites have also adjusted their prices to a higher point. Any idea of what is going on?

I have noticed price increases on many gpu's in the US as well. I think it has to do with the latest bit coin mining craze, amd cards like the 570 and 580 are almost completely sold out because of this. The nvidia cards seem to be affected too, though you can still find them in stock. I think its just supply and demand, the bit coin miners are buying up all the gpus, which means less supply and more demand and thus prices go up.

Yeah I saw something about 570's and 580's going out of stock in practically every online store. Your theory seems plausible, might just have to wait a while before getting a new card then. Thanks!

14.06 i considered buying 1080 (MSI, Asus, EVGA or Gainward) - because my 480 broke (Sapphire radeons are so sht...) at 14.06 GTX 1080 was around 550 euro
19.06 it was already 620 euro
yesterday (21.06) it broke to 695
today(22.06) it is 765 euro

I saw some websites that still have old price - 550 euro, and some websites have 810 euro price tag already from 19.06

Ps. I live in europe
Pss I always buy 2 radeons one form asus one from sapphire, before I had two 285, till sapphire 480 broke I had two Rx 480 (one from asus one from sapphire) Asus - no problems ever, both sapphire - 285 and 480 had problems, and sapphire warranty Rma takes 2-3 months (that is actually illegal in my country)

Yeah this sucks and it only seems to be getting worse, I had my eye on a 1070 and then refreashed the page and it bumped up in price by another 30£ and was to pre-order.

Will they eventually go down??
