I got Dishonored2 and noticed some weird thin textures were just cut off in the distance and if i got a step closer they would get ''fixed''. But now i notice in minecraft that i get this... far water looks like old TV's wavy lines and there are some white stripes in the distance. Any help? I've got a GTX 750ti and DX 11.1 with a patch... might it be from that?

Solution
Can't see anything in the second pic. The first pic is moire.

It happens due to an interference pattern between the pixel grid of the texture and the pixel grid of your display. Ways to fix it are:

  • ■Crank up anti-aliasing.
■If your game has the option, switch from bilinear to trilinear filtering (affects how textures on distant objects are rendered).
■You can also try enabling anisotropic filtering, though that's more for reducing blurriness. Or if you have it enabled, try disabling it. Distant textures will be blurrier, but there's less chance of moire.
■Edit: Supersampling can help reduce it too, but at a massive cost to framerate.
