I have a EVGA 122-YW-E173-TR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard with an overclocked Intel Core 2 Duo E8500. I want to upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Quad Q9650. Can I do the swap without having to mess with anything else or how do I need to do it?

EVGA lists the Q9650 as supported:

You may need a different heatsink, since the new CPU puts out more heat, but the old one may still work. It may also be necessary to clear the CMOS (via jumper or pulling the battery) to get it to select the correct multiplier and bus speed. Also, very occasionally Windows won't automatically detect the extra cores/threads and will still see a dual core - you can check for this in task manager, to see if more logical processors show up. The fix for this is to go into device manager and uninstall your CPU, then reboot.

Chances are good you can just put it in and it will work as expected, though.
