Play with Xbox friends?

I will soon be buying a few Xbox games on my PC. I was wondering if I could play with my friends on PC while they play on actual Xbox consoles.

You would have to check if these games you're looking to purchase have cross-platform support. Certain games do include this such as Gears of War 4, and it's generally advertised if it's a feature but most do not. Whether or not they do can usually be found through a quick google search.
