I have a GIGABYTE Z87-HD3 motherboard. my current ram is: https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-240-Pin-Desktop-PC3-12800-JM1600KLN-4G/dp/B004ZBAPD2

The ram i want to get is: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-1600MHz-DDR3/dp/B00J8E92M6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497733577&sr=8-1&keywords=Kingston%2BHyperX%2BFury%2B8GB%2BDDR3%2B1600MHz%2BHX316C10F%2F8&th=1

Will it still work on my pc even tough its not on the list?

CPU is i7 4770

my second question is whether i should get 8gb or 2x8. I use my computer for gaming and I dont know if 8 gb is enough for that.

Thanks

Hello... You also need to check the websites of the theses brands and models to make sure they are compatible with a "Z87" chipset... Not all DDR3 is made the same... it depends on the type of chips they put on them... DDR3 is just a "card factor" "PC board" spec.

Micron and Samsung are the best memory chip makers... but because of the heatsinks or makers don't list this information, it hard to tell what the 'best' memory models are. B /

You can get basic Samsung 16 GB of basic 2Rx8 8gb sticks 11 CL that works great at 1600 1T on my past/current intel '77" systems... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2x-8gb-16gb-total-Samsung-PC3-12800U-Desktop-RAM-Working-Pulls-/282530455769?hash=item41c820a0d9:g:a3wAAOSwPK1ZRTHA ~$65 that's a good...

So as long as it is DDR3 and 1333 or 1600 mhz any memory will work?

Micron memory chips will be Listed under the 'Crucial" brand name... B /

What is your budget?... typically you will want to run memory sticks in pairs for added dual channel operational speed.

Currently I see "Retail" DDR3 8GB ram prices are currently running high again... prices drop and rise over time/events.

Here would be a Good 'Micron" choice for your board http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/bls8g3d1609ds1s00?gclid=CI3loafxxdQCFUg6gQodus0LUw&ef_id=WUV7GQAAAGleNVpW:20170617220411:s
