I'm swapping my current motherboard which is an A68HM-E33 V2 to a B250 motherboard so that I can use a intel i5 7500. I was wondering if I'd have to format my hard drive in order to do this. I know you have to re install windows and was curious if this was part of the process.

You don't have to do any of that when swapping parts, unless you ran out of the number of times Windows will let you.

Although, it's good practice to reinstall Windows so it doesn't have driver conflicts later down the road.
