i5 7600 (non K) at 4.1 Ghz or ryzen 5 1600 OC

Solution
most games right now are only optimised for single-core and quad-core (4 core) so i5 7600 will be the winner
but then again, Ryzen are dependant to your RAM speed too so if u have RAM with good speed, ryzen might be able to catch up

I5-7600 runs at 3.5. The 4.1 number is the turbo which applies to a single core if the rest of the workload is not much.
Very good for single threaded games.
ryzen 1600 runs at 3.2 with a 3.6 turbo.
Lower level ryzen chips are not well binned so you should not expect to see more than a 3.8 oc.
And, at that, the IPC of ryzen is a bit less than intel.
My take is that the i5-7600 is not a great buy in the $200 price bracket. If you can spend 10% more for a I5-7600K
You can look forward to an oc in the 5.0 range.
