Hi,
I just built a brand new computer with all new components. While I waited on my Strix 1080Ti, I used the integrated intel GPU (motherboard is Maximus IX Hero) to configure settings to my liking.

Now that my GPU has arrived, I used Display Driver Uninstaller to wipe the Intel files, then installed my Nvidia drivers.

It hasn't had any problems at all until I opened youtube and launched an HD video.
It immediately swaps displays to my intel GPU. On closing the youtube tab, it goes back to my Nvidia GPU.

I'm a complete computer noob but couldn't find answers elsewhere, so please explain like I'm five if possible!

Specs Are:
[GPU] ASUS Strix 1080Ti
[MOBO] Maximus IX Hero
[CPU] I7-7700k
[MEM] G.Skill DDR4 3200 RGB
[CPU Cooler] Kraken x52

Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!

I don't think that I understood completely but for that to happen you have to have connect your monitor with both GPU and iGPU which I don't think that you did that.
In other words, is your monitor connected in your mobo output or in your GPU's output?

Nope, HDMI is currently hooked into my TV directly from the GPU.

As best I can describe it, the screen flickers black as soon as I change it to 1080p or higher, and then the resolution seems off. The color of the screen changes (seems like high contrast settings, looks horrible) and the taskbar etc. is all off screen so that I can't see it anymore.

From Nvidia Control Panel, It still says resolution is the same @ 1920x1080.

It only happens on chrome (I tried Internet Explorer and it was fine, didn't try safari or firefox.)

Thanks
I usually have it off but I guess my settings set with my account don't include/carry over the flag settings.

Seems to be all good now!

I had to uncheck the solution because I just found that it also occurs with the Netflix APP (Not using chrome, on chrome netflix is fine).

When I watch something on netflix windowed, it's fine. On hitting fullscreen, it does the same thing as chrome used to do (black screen, color off, resolution change).

Not a huge issue but still somewhat annoying.

There's definitly a change in color (seems like the contrast is changing) and resolution.
I know its hard to see as netflix is only doing it when fullscreen (was easier to show on chrome).

If you go super slow [suggest slowing down the video or go frame by frame using period/comma] around the 15-16s mark, you can see the taskbar having shifted slightly off screen.

I'll try DDU tonight as a last attempt.

Alright, I'll do the DDU tonight before I sleep and let you know what happens.
I should run DDU without internet connected, yes? What option(s) should I select?

So I used DDU, didn't work. Still having the same issue with the Netflix App. It also seems to occur with skyrim!

Any ideas? Thanks.

In case you were wondering at all, it ended up being the monitor hahaha.
I tested on a new monitor and everything worked fine no issues.
