R5 1600X Or i5 7600k for VR?

Which of these two CPU's will give the best performance for VR usage?
I know that the 7600K is better for the vast majority of games, but I've also heard that VR games are more thread-aware and can give a better experience with more threads.

R5 1600X is in everything better than i5, there's no real reason to get i5 these days. But if you want to overclock, R5 1600 is more worth it, because it can be overclocked to same clock for less money.
