When I plug in my 1TB external HDD I get the following confirmation that its plugged in. (The light also comes on and it makes the dinging noise it usually makes.)

But when I look under 'This PC' the external HDD doesn't show up as shown below:

I had my brother try it and it worked fine on his computer, and I have tried other external HDDs in my USB ports and they have worked fine so I assume its not a port issue.

My device manager looks like this, where Mass Storage Device USB Device is my HDD.

I read that clicking 'Show hidden devices' under View and uninstalling the grayed out options could be a possible soultion but it didn't help/change anything.

Finally my Disk Management looks like this where Disk 1 is my external HDD.

I read online that right clicking and hitting 'Change drive letter and path..." to assign a drive letter may be able to fix the problem but anywhere I right click that option is grayed out.

My computer is up to date and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but its all up to date. I haven't seen any error codes and I have minimal experience with this so I tried to depict my situation and the solutions I have tried as clearly as I could.
Any information or suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you.

That is my 1TB external HDD that I am having trouble with. When I unplug my 1TB HDD and plug it in the 1.5TB drive you mentioned disappears and appears under disk management so I know it's my 1TB HDD that is being displayed as 1.5TB for whatever reason. I know my HDD is only 1TB so I am not sure why my computer would read it as larger and dataless.
On my brothers computer it looks like this (its TV Shows (E: )):

I know it's a long shot but I am hoping to figure out why it works on his computer and not mine.
