Upgrading CPU to reduce noise and heat while playing game

I currently have an FX 4350, GTX 970 and 600W Aerocool PSU
When playing games the fans get really loud and my PC gets very warm. I know I need to upgrade the CPU- was thinking of going for a i5 6500 Skylake. I can afford this but I just want to make sure the noise and heat will be drastically reduced. I also need to tidy up the cables in my case and clear out the dust form the case.

P.S I have no idea how to install a CPU

Do you think I should go ahead with this?

Well considering we don't have much more info to go on, that's the first step I'd take. I would advise taking all the components out individually and cleaning them with air under normal circumstances, but considering you don't have any PC building experience, I would not recommend it. You could break something if you don't know what you are doing.
First, I'm going to assume you know that you'll need a new motherboard for Skylake and DDR4 memory as well. I'd upgrade that power supply also. Aerocool is not a good quality brand (Tom's ranks it as Tier 4 out of 5 quality tiers with 5 being at the bottom - dangerous).

Regarding fan noise, case fans run independent of the CPU thermals so no matter how hot your CPU gets it won't affect the case fans. You don't say what kind of case you have, so it's hard to give more details. Also I'm assuming you just use a stock CPU cooler and not an aftermarket one.

For CPU installation, there are videos on Youtube of how to do it. It's easy but you have to be careful and make sure to not damage the pins when placing it in the slot (and closing the cover to lock it down).

I don't have that much money to buy a new motherboard
I currently have a M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard. What CPU should I get that could go well the GTX 970. I am not sure of my case details apart from the fact it is made by PC Specialist
Should I just get an AMD CPU?

the heat, well, what case do you have?

the noise, you need silent fans, a silent gpu and a silent cooler to play in silence or use headphones

youtube is literally full of videos explaining how to install a cpu, assemble a pc

if you plan to change the cpu, you need a new mainboard, new ram too

start with a budget and what parts you have to know what can be reused and what needs to be purchased

You can't mix and match AMD and Intel CPUs on the same motherboard. Also you can't just throw in a newer AMD chip in an older motherboard. I would not put anymore money into that four year old chipset. Again, your issue is not the CPU causing the case rans to run loud. You might want to blow out the CPU cooler with canned air as well. Sounds to me like you just need to do some housekeeping inside the case including wiping down all the fan blades with a damp cloth (make sure it's unplugged from the back of the power supply).

So there is no point in buying anything, just tidy up the cables and clean the PC inside?
