Greeting to this community.

Before you read, please be aware that I'm a complete novice Windows user.

I've been able to play Titanfall 2 without any errors or crashes so far and now when I try to play the game, the game just closes down with a pop-up saying the following:

Title: Engine Error

Couldn't intialize sound.
Please make sure you have a sound playback device that is enabled and properly configured.
Failed in: MilesDriverCreate
Miles output follows:
Audio Hardware Error: Failed to initialize IAudioClient (shared, event mode, float, chans=2, rate=44100, HR=AUDCLNT_E_SERVICE_NOT_RUNNING)
Failed to initialized WASAPI audio hardware, trying XAudio.
Couldn't create XAudio2 master voice.

Following the error, I've searched google for answers and I've tried the following with no success since other's where having the AUDCLNT_E_DEVICE_IN_USE and my problem is not the same as their's.

1. Changed my speakers
2. Updated all my Windows Drivers via (a)Automatic Updates, (b)Driver Booster 4.4 Free
3. Deleted Origin Cache in %ProgramData%
4. Re-started the Windows Audio service several times
5. Ran Titanfall 2 in compatibility mode
6. Manually installed Realtek HD Audio Device Manager and tried to configure it from there

The following Playback Devices were found when I right-clicked the Speaker icon in the taskbar:

1. Speakers (With a Green Tick)
High Definition Audio Device
Default Device

2. Headphones (With a Red Arrow pointing down)
High Definition Audio
Not plugged in

3. Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (No icon to this whatsoever)
High Definition Audio Device
Ready

4. NVIDIA Output (With a Red Arrow pointing down)
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Not plugged in

5. NVIDIA Output (With a Red Arrow pointing down)
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Not plugged in

6. NVIDIA Output (With a Red Arrow pointing down)
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Not plugged in

7. NVIDIA Output (With a Red Arrow pointing down)
NVIDIA High Definition Audio
Not plugged in

When I try to test my sound in this menu, the default device (1. Speakers) works perfect and produces sound. While Digital Audio does not produce any sound at all.

Sometimes, after launching Titanfall 2 and getting crashed, the default device (1. Speakers) wont even play the test tone and gives an error pop-up saying : "Failed to play test tone"

Here is a Pastebin link of my DxDiag : https://pastebin.com/FsQZNQTE

However, before the crash, I'm able to play other games with full audio and also listen to Music Files, watch YouTube videos and also view my personal videos with sound without any problems.

After the crash, the sound completely stops working and I cannot even play the normal windows sound when I try to adjust the sound volume.

Driver Booster 4.4 's Fix Audio Error also reverted my Realtek Drivers back to the earliest state and yet did not fix the issue. Driver Booster also tried to play the audio via the Digital Audio (Sound Device #2) yet did not hear any tone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Solution
Delete all audio drivers (not for video card).

Here's a link for that:
https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/fix-sound-issue-this-device-cannot-start-code-10/

Then download chipset drivers and install\run it as Admin, Restart PC
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-?product=9846

Then download Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs driver and install\run it as Admin, Restart PC
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#1

If these methods do not work, try again from the start but this time also uninstall GeForce experience using DDU and then proceed to uninstall audio drivers.

Regards,
David
