Is my motherboard the issue?

I have had my PC crash recently, tested the RAM (with memtest) and both modules came up with errors. I tested the same RAM modules on another PC and no errors. Does this mean the problem would be with my mobo? I've also done a stress test and it was all fine.

Side note: My RAM is meant to be 1600mhz whereas it's displaying 1333mhz in the BIOS.

Solution
OK your ram timings are 10-10-10-27 for that set of ram @1.5V. Make sure teh timings are set properly and voltage you can set to 1.51+ as a test. Do not go over 1.6V on the ram.

You can also try adding a little voltage to the Memory controller which is labeled as CPU/NB in the BIOS voltage control. I believe AMD sets this to 1.45V for stock But usually 1.35 or lower is good.
You need to actually provide info about you PC so people can help. Motherboard make/model, RAM, what timings voltages on the RAM. Very likely you need to either set an XMP profile and bump voltage to the memory a hair but with zero details I wouldn't even wager a guess.

It could be a BIOS setting causing errors but it could also be an incompatibility issue with the Motherboard/CPU memory controller.

Make sure you have the Dram timings set to the manufactures recommendations. These should be listed on the sticker attached to the memory module.
Some times the ram will auto set to a lower frequency to help with first time boot so you often have to set the Memory frequency manually. This is common.

Also please list the systems fill specs, please include make and model of the CPU, Motherboard, Ram, HDD/SSD, PSU, GPU and case.

Sorry forgot about system specs.

FX8350 @ 4.0
M5A97 R2.0
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz
running off a Samsung evo 250gb ssd.

I ran memtest and one ram module came up with 6 errors in test 6 and the other ram module came up with 1 error in test 7.

I'll get the voltages and timings now.

on the modules it says 1.5v and 1600mhz and in the bios it's at 1.5v and 1333mhz.

What is the exact model number of your memory? With this we can look it up and see what the timings are supposed to be.

Like I mentioned before you will have to manually set the memory frequency and timings. With the model numbers we can tell you what to set it to.

I've just done another memtest, this time with a different RAM module that I know works, and had no errors.

Thanks, just adjusted them now. Could this have been the cause for the crashes?
