Hi

I want to purchase a single 1tb hdd,but im a little confused about their real perfomance.

So the first option is the WD10EZEX which is the cheapest about 50euros/2 years warranty

The second is the wd black WD1003FZEX which supposed to be a black, but as i read on the internet, its just a blue drive just like the wd10ezex with price 90euros and 5 years warranty.

And last option is the sshd wd blue at 105 euro, which i read that is 5400rpm and slowest than a fast blue or black.

Well except from that the classic caviar blue which has many positive reviews,i cant find much info about the other two.

Want i want,is the fastest possible hdd-sshd on the market.

Thanks in advance.

What are you using the HDD for? And why does it need to be fast? Will it be the only drive in the system?

The compelling trend in system builds these days is to put your OS and performance-requiring executables on an SSD, and use a typical HDD for everything else.

But if you are building a system on a limited budget, then perhaps the extra $100 for an SSD is not possible. Then you are on the right track, looking at a single drive that balances price and performance.

I would also recommend looking at the Seagate Barracuda 1TB.

WD black have a few Mb+ on read , write speed plus 5 years warranty and from some reviews is a little louder than blue. I own a WD blue 640GB aaks for 8 years and is running like a champ and is so quiet , without any bad sector. If you care about warranty buy the black if not you can't go wrong with the blue.
