Hey all,

Sometimes, all of our devices connected via WiFi (smartphones, laptops) suddenly no longer seem to be connected to the internet. However, they still get the WiFi signal alright and they assume they are connected to the router. They just can't access to the internet or the router's address.

The wired connection remains perfect, the tv+phone as well.

To fix this, I have to go in the router's config (via desktop pc), and toggle the WiFi off and on again.
It started to happen about a couple weeks ago. At first, once every 5 days. Now it occurs about 2 to 5 times a day.

I'm waiting for my ISP (SFR) to call me back, but as usual I'm gonna have to undergo the usual boring procedures "Please reboot your router" and then Reset your router" which I have already tried... so I'm hoping some of you can suggest a more accurate suggestion of the problem :) !

Thanks !

This is your router's issue. This is not the fault of the ISP. The wired connection remaining connected releases them from responsibility. It's the job of your router to transmit and receive the wifi signal as well as giving each device its own IP address. The connection to the router and then to the device(s) that are connected by ethernet cable say that the router is receiving the signal just fine from the modem.

I forgot to mention, my router is provided by my ISP

That's why I'll have to contact them if the router is the problem

Thanks for your replies. Any suggestion what i should tell them ? Provide a new router ?
