Alright, so I really want to get the 1070. My friend recommended me to do so because the 1080 is not worth the extra money for the frames you get. Well, the 1080 is about a 100 euros more now, so is it worth the extra money? I'm planning on playing on 1080p though. Thanks in advance!

No, it is not. Especially if you buy one with good cooling (not the reference blower design) so you can overclock it. Preferably a factory overclocked one as well. Overclock it a little more and you can get 90-95% of the performance of a reference 1080.

Also keep in mind if your monitor is only a 1080p 60Hz or even 1440p 60Hz, that 1080 would be money thrown away as the monitor won't provide more than 60FPS effectively. You'd need a G-sync monitor to match more FPS with monitor frequency speed.
