Is it worth it to upgrade from a stock Intel 4710MQ to 4940MX? How hot would it get? Will the Alienware 17 be able to carry the 4940MX without any problem?

Laptop Details:
Alienware 17 2014 - August 19, 2014 Manufacture Date
CPU: 4710MQ
GPU: GTX 880M
RAm: 32 GB DDR3L Vengeance (Mix 16GB 2133Mhz and 16GB 1866Mhz)
HDD: 1 x 512gb Samsung 850 Pro SSD
1 x 1Tb Samsung 850 Pro SSD
1 x 1Tb Samsung 850 Evo Msata

I'm worried about the temps, as of now GPU and CPU are running 35-40 Deg C at Idle and during gaming 50-85 Deg C.

I intend to repaste both CPU and GPU with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, since I'm repasting might as well change the CPU idea came upon me.

Would it be worth it? the Upgrade? and would it be safe (temperature wise) to upgrade to 4940MX?

Also What's the difference between 4930MX and 4940Mx?

Thank You! Haven't slept for three nights now just struggling on the idea whether to upgrade or not.

I hope you guys could help!

First of all yes the temperature will be higher than what you have now but not by a huge difference.
The upgrade would be worth it as you would see noticeable difference in the cpu performace and in games that rely on cpu.
Well the differnece isnt much basically there is a 0.1 difference in processor ghz and the 4930mx is unlocked so you can overclock it where the 4940mx isnt unlocked, Buy which ever is cheaper cause both are more or less the same. Both are intel extreme edition cpu, they will perform really good.
Good luck

Another thing be sure to update all your driver and especially the bios to the latest one because there can be chances that the laptop wont run after the upgrade due to lack of support of the new processor. While the old processor is in it, update the bios then change the processor.
