Hello,

Recently back in January of 2017, I built a PC with the following specifications and hardware,

  • MSI NVDIA GTX 1070
Intel Core i7 7700K Kabby Lake Processor 4.6GHZ
    G SKILLS RIPJAW 16GB of DDR4-3000
    1TB HDD 7000RPM
    120GB PNY SSD
    NZXT KRAKEN X61 LIQUID COOLER
Here is the PcPartPicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/trioxlight/saved/RcbkLk

I noticed that my games don't run nearly as well as they should with the NVDIA GTX 1070. For example GTA 5 typically stays at around 60FPS and sometimes drops below it with the following settings online: http://imgur.com/a/tGS51

Here is also my benchmark: https://youtu.be/jRorTzwNFlg (I know it looks like I recorded this with a potato but I forgot when sending videos via email they compress the video resolution so when I uploaded the video it was in 240p) Sorry. ^^'

In games like Batman Arkham Arkham Asylum with every thing maxed out I maintain a stable 60 fps but sometimes it goes to 40-56fps. It shouldn't though as I know my GPU is fully capable plus the game is pretty old and NOT that demanding.

One last thing is my temperatures. People say this is a huge factor so here are my temps via Cam software: https://gyazo.com/f65667d01017a6e517648d6062bd25a5

Thank-you for all who can provide well insight on my situation.

50C with a 25% seems a but much. What does it get to while gaming?

Do you have the right bios to make a 7700k run corrctly on a Z170?

Is the Windows install new (i.e. didn't move the drive from a different build)?

Try DDU in safe mode to delete and reinstall gpu drivers. Speaking of, did yoi install latest chipset drivers from mobo's website?

1.) I completely agree. I've always had suspicion over my idle temps. While gaming? Here are my temps: http://imgur.com/a/34SSW

2.) When I first placed the Kabbylake processor into my motherboard it actually didn't work, so I had to buy a skylake one and update the drivers with that chipset inside. So I believe I do now otherwise I don't believe I would be running Windows right now.

3.) Yes, new Windows drivers. This is a new build nothing was moved.
