I currently have these mentioned products working fine except the rgb colour is still in default on the sticks as i haven't downloaded their beta software. Has anyone with the same setup been successful changing the colour with the software beta installed from G.Skill?

Yes, the software can change the colors, but if you do there is a extremely high risk of the software breaking the code on the ram making it completely useless. (As in, it won't even work as ram)
So deal with the rainbow for now. (Asus aura, MSI command center, ect can do this as well)
Also don't use CPU-Z or any other type of software that displays info about the RAM as it can also break the code of the ram.
