Hi there im just wondering if its okay to use Eucalyptus oil http://www.thursdayplantation.com/product-categories/australia/the-essentials-100-pure-oils/eucalyptus-oil/ to clean the thermal paste off my CPU? I used it to clean it off my cpu cooler block and it seemed to work fine.

If there is any oily residue left behind (oils are likely to do this), it could negatively affect the thermal compound being used (like break it down or prevent optimal contact with hot components, like your CPU). That is why alcohol is recommended. It evaporates and leave no residue.
