Issue connecting cpu cooler

Hi there, I'm doing a new build and am having an issue with connecting my Corsair H115i liquid cpu cooler. In the instructions it said to connect it up to the CPU FAN header, but the case I'm using (Phanteks Enthoo Luxe) uses a fan hub that also needs to be connected here. My motherboard (MSI x99 gaming pro carbon) manual states that this is the only pwm controlled header on the board, but is there any way I can change this in the bios so that either PUMP FAN1 or SYS FAN 1 would also use pwm? As i understand it I could safely connect the fan hub to the CPU FAN header and then run the H115i to the 1st slot on the fan hub, but then all fans would run according to cpu temp? I read that the best way to go would be to have the H115i connected to CPU FAN and then the fan hub connected to another pwm header that will read temps for the case fans from the mobo. Would this be the best way to go and if so could I change one of the headers mentioned above to pwm mode using the bios? I Can't find any information on changing it with this particular motherboard. Thanks for the help.

Solution
Motherboard manual, page 46, diagram Voltage mode fan connector showing pin setup for headers SYS-FAN 1 2 3 and PUMP_FAN: pin 4 - NC. NC means Not Connected, so the answer is no, you cannot turn other headers to PWM.

I wouldn't connec the Luxe fan hub to the CPU headers. I would connect the case fan controller to the case fan header and plug the cpu cooler to the cpu fan header.

It's weird the only PWM header is the cpu one. Is the case fan header on the mobo 4 pin or 3 pin? If it's 4 pin it should be PWM also.

"I read that the best way to go would be to have the H115i connected to CPU FAN and then the fan hub connected to another pwm header that will read temps for the case fans from the mobo."

Yes. That is the best solution.

I looked at the manual for your board and it has a pump header so I would use that for your AIO cooler.

Ok so if I can't turn any other headers to pwm would the best thing to do be to run the fan hub to CPU FAN header (as recommended in the case instruction manual) and then connect the H115i to the 1st slot on the hub? Because otherwise if I plug either the hub or H115i into another header on the mobo the fans will just run at 100% all the time? Is that right? The only other headers I have are PUMP FAN and SYS FAN 1,2 and 3. I'm guessing the pump fan would be for the H115i and the sys fans would be for case fans.

That is possible, but note that all your fans will run according to CPU temps; you will not be able to make some of them run at different speed for example to do extra cooling of motherboard.
Another option is listed in case manual:
Connecting the 4-pin to other 4-pin header (besides the CPU_Fan) Other 4-pin connectors can be found on modern motherboards besides the “CPU_Fan” connector (e.g. “CPU_Fan2”, “CHA_Fan”, “OPT_Fan”), however not all motherboard manufacturers implement a true PWM signal modulation onto these connectors. These type of 4-pin connectors modulate the RPM by voltage, which has a smaller control range compared to modulation by true PWM signal.
The 12V SATA power cable can not be used to power the PWM hub if connecting to these types of 4-pin connectors, due to the interference with the RPM regulation by voltage (resulting in the fans running on full RPM). The PWM hub will draw its power from the 4-pin connector, which is limited to a total device consuming 30W in total.
This applies directly to your mobo, however it limits the number of fans you can connect to hub.

Since it is a matter of re-plugging just few cables, I suggest trying both and choosing one that will work better for you. But this also depends on how many fans you have and what kind - second method will use voltage control method on case fans, and some PWM fans may not like this.

Ok thanks for the help. I will try both ways and see how I get on. I'm guessing the fans that came with the case and connected to the hub are pwm so I'll start by connecting the hub to the cpu header and the h115i to the hub. Thanks again for all the help, this website and you people are awesome!
