ddr5 vga on ddr3 motherboard ?

Solution
For confirmation, see the many threads with this very question:

http://www.tomshardware.com/s/ddr5+gpu+with+ddr3+motherboard/

The type of memory used by the motherboard is completely independent from the type of memory used by the GPU.

they have NOTHING to do with each other

if your motherboard has a proper pcie slot and your power supply has the proper wattage/pcie cables for the card it should work
