problems ith dvi and hdmi cable

my pc works fine and everything is perfect except that when i put a dvi cord or hdmi cord into my graphics card or motherboard nothing shows up it wont even detect it

tx 1060 i5 4460 500 wat power supply 1 ssd and 1 hdd motherboard is h81m-s2h and 1 dvi cord and hdmi cord

(it does detect from dvi but does not show up)
