Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 550 TI to the MSI GTX 980. I have installed the GPU and it lights up, fans spin, and it displays graphics fine. The issue is NVIDIA will not install drivers for it. All of them say the do not detect NVIDIA hardware in the system when they run. I have checked under device manager and set the view to show hidden devices and the new GPU is not listed under the display adapters or other devices. I just performed a clean install of windows 7 when installing this card, so their shouldnt be any kind of old GPU drivers causing problems. I have also updated BIOS to the latest version and cant find any option that disables on board graphics or changes display to the PCI, but I dont think that is causing an issue as the card is technically displaying and "working". I have tried running driver easy, and it would not detect the card or missing drivers. I have also tried disabling the default graphics and restarting and running the driver installer and that doesn't work either. All help is greatly appreciated! Going on about 2 days of research on this issue with no success!
