new PSU overheating same way the old one did

Hello,
I have recently upgraded my PC and the PSU was overheating , so i bought a new one and it does the same thing(its pretty hot even though I´m not playing anything). My upgrade isn´t anything groundbreaking, here are some specs:
AMD phenom II X4 925 @ 2,8 GHz
8Gb Zeppelin ddr2
MSI GTX 660 2GB
Windows 7 64-bit
Power supply: Zalman ZM600-GVM - 600W.
Everything else is within normal temperatures.
Just to clarify: it happened after the upgrade which included the graphics card and adding 4gb extra RAM. Any help would be much appreciated.

Definetly bad case air flow, try removing side pannel.

If the case is closed, more hot air stays in.

huh, the temeperature has gone down actually. I´ll wait a bit for the PC to cool down and try play something to see if it lasts. In the meantime, thank you for the advice.

well i tried playing a little and after a while the PSU fan starts screaming and heating up really fast. The case fan doesnt seem to be the problem, it works fine, cold air comming out, no loud noises, its just the psu

UPDATE: Which other components do you have connected?Except you added in specs.

It shouldn't heat up that much, how hot is on touch?Or blowing out? It shouldn't be shorting out.Unless its made in factory like that.If you have time , try to dissasemble it and run outside of case.

its wierd, the air blowing out is cold but upon touching back of the case and top of it, it is really hot

How much did you pay for it?

I can suggest you to RMA if you paid under 80-100$[strike] cause its not worth it, it has cheap components like in old pc's from 2004.[/strike]

yea, I probably will, I bought it yesterday and paid cca 70$. What puzzles me though is that the old one did exactly the same, so I am afraid there might be something else

You can buy EVGA 600b same specs as your zalman but a bit expensive , but you shouldn't have problem with it i suppose.

it was some basic poopy, its called eurocase atx-400w. Also i reached into the case, and found out the rams are really hot, not sure if thats normal or not

hahaha eurocase, you mean MSI-400W industrial, its pretty reliable psu for me, i ran it for year without fan cause i forgot to plug it back when i was cleaning him. For heating ram it may be because of cpu pushing air to RAM or its overvolted from bios , DDR3 can run 1.5V or 1.35V unless you overclocked your rig.

If it doesn't help i really don't know, maybe your rig is pulling too much wattage but it Couldn't cause phenom can max 200W+40Wmobo+GPU200W on hot summer day + hdd 3W=443~500W on summer day.

from Europe, yeah, maybe it isnt poopy, it ran just fine before I upgraded, it only started acting up a little bit on hot summer after hours of high requirement games. But now it screams a lot, also im noticing little stutters now and then (the screen locks for a few secs.) The thing about the rams all of them are hot, aand the cpu fan is blowing the air out other way. I think it may be something with the wattage. No oveclocking done though.

soo, it seems the new psu started melting, there is some white paste now visible through the back, so I popped back in the old one, it still screams a lot, I really dont know what is going on
