Hi all, so I'm looking for a decent gaming computer however I do not want it to play anything like FPSs etc it will mainly be for strategy games, so for example Civilisation, City Skylines, Planet Coaster etc... I know some of these games are more demanding then others but I would like a computer that can run these smoothly. Can someone recommend a build, or what I need to focus on and how much I can expect to spend?

Solution
No worries. Not to mention, this is just a guide, you can choose any case your want, as long as it's not an ITX. You can also upgrade to a i7-7700K (highest CPU for this board) and get ultimate performance.

I'm in the UK, I'd like to have a relatively high resolution, well as high as possible without making the budget sky rocket and I'm looking at spending around £300 ish. I know this isn't a lot for a gaming PC but I have no intention of playing any FPS games or racing games. It would mainly be strategy/simulator games

Well, you want to make sure that you can start low. 300 is a bit too low, unless you want to go second hand, but you lose out on the warranty.

Yeah well 300 is just a starting figure. If I need to spend a little bit more that is fine and I can upgrade elements as I go.

Thanks for this that is a big help and gives me a springboard to start from.

If I was going to upgrade any of these elements, for my type of gameplay what do you think I should focus on?

you may want to get a bigger GPU when you can...probably a RX 580 (if they every come down in price) or just go to a GTX 1060
