Hello guys

Would you be able recommend me any of these processors ? I´m still amateur in this and I don´t know which is of these in the list is top.
Here is the full list of processors page 93
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01689926.pdf
By bigger numbers I decide that this is top 3 but Im not sure
Is it -
Intel Core™2 Quad Q9100 2.26-GHz with 12-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB or

Intel Core2 Duo T9800 2.93-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB or

Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 2.00-GHz with 1-MB L2 cache and 800-MHz

Thanks for your help guys
Wishing a nice day

Multi-threaded applications can take advantage of several cores to improve performance, e.g., 7-ZIP, HandBrake, etc. Here's a nice list: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/hyper-threading-core-i7-980x,review-31842-3.html

A Single-threaded application uses a single core even if there are idle cores, e.g, some browsers and most older applications.

If you plan on mainly running multi-threaded applications, then get the Q9100; otherwise the T9800 is a good choice.

Most older games and applications are single-threaded and they will run better on the T9800 (faster cores than the Q9100), but if you run well threaded application or several applications at a time, then buy the Q9100.

You know better than anyone else what you'll use that old laptop for.

Personally I'd buy the Q9100 because I don't use few single-threaded applications where the faster clock of the T9800 would really make a difference to me. Being able to run several applications concurrently is more important and the 4 cores of the Q9100 would help. I presume that you can determine which one is best for your requirements.

Well I will use that laptop main for play games in my free time. Also I have a question in laptop is missing one of the rams (we lost it when we was moving from house) there was 2x4gb and now is there only one 4gb ram do you think that will be there any issue if I buy one spare the same just from different branch ? Right now is there Samsung 4GB PC2-6400 800Mhz, DDR2 SDRAM, SO DIMM 200 pin.
