I am about to put an order in for the rest of my build. Will be running Ryzen 5 1600x and was wondering if the MSI Tomahawk bios is updated to where the RAM and all components are optimized and running smoothly?

Solution
Hard to say. Depends on where you buy from and what their sales turnover is. But any Ryzen board from the earliest should recognize the 1600X. Just make sure you update the BIOS to get the latest AGESA update to be able to utilize the faster RAM. And (at least for now) I recommend picking your RAM from their memory QVL.

One minor correction if this is your board: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK.html#down-bios
...the BIOS needed for recognizing the 1600X is the 7A34v11 https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK.html#support-cpu
That is the 2nd earliest BIOS for that board. And listed as a stability update only. Apparently MSI released that board before the Ryzen 5 series came out and provided a BIOS update for it in March of this year. Highly unlikely any major seller like Newegg or Amazon would have any of those left. So you should still be good.
