Is this build good enough?

Solution
It's a very nice, very solid build.

Might be the odd component you can change for a lesser price but equal performance..... but a lot will depend on your location? I would assume you're in the UK, but you might just be using Amazon.co.uk.

For example, the SuperNOVA G3 650W is 99GBP.
The G2 650W is 85GBP https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/9q4NnQ/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1
The Rosewill Capstone G650 is 75GBP. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/HkdFf7/rosewill-power-supply-capstoneg650

And, while the G3 is newer - performance would be equal across the 3 PSUs and all are good quality.
The Capstone G is only semi-modular though, and not as nicely sleeved. So while it could save you ~25% of the PSU cost without sacraficing...

Aye. In the UK and planning on only purchasing from Amazon if I can help it. I don't mind paying a tiny bit extra for the comfort of it all coming from one place. Just need to learn how to build the damn thing now.

I had a G2 PSU on my build but was advised to go for G3. Is there any real difference apart from the G3 being newer? Perhaps G3 is for people with more intense builds?

Just to give you an example, even just from Amazon (and MS directly for your OS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/store/d/product/D76QX4BZNWK4/1NT3) You can still save a wee bit without impacting performance.

Saves you ~120quid give or take. You might be able to find W10 home, retail for around 100 saving you another 20.

Now, while the Samsung SSD would outperfom in benchmarks; in real-world usage, I'd be very surprised if you noticed any difference at all.

As for the G3 vs G2, AFAIK, the G3 is just an update - and it's a little smaller.

Clearly a secondary storage drive :sarcastic:

I might be stupid here but how come a different Z270 is almost half the price? Will it still do the same job? If that's the case, why isn't everyone buying cheaper ones?
Same with the GTX 1070. That's £50 cheaper. What's the difference!?
I'll just get the USB flash drive Windows 10 from Amazon. I'll know what I'm doing then. It's only £75 at the moment.
I'll have a look at the SSD.

That depends - what & why are you RAIDing exactly? For the average user, an SSD for the OS provides sufficient speed, and a traditional HDD is a smarter option on a $/GB basis for bulk storage.

RAIDing HDDs for speed, then an SSD likely has you beat in a lot of cases.
RAIDing for redundancy, then speed is not the focus - regardless of whether you're using an HDD or SSD.
RAIDing SSDs (ie 1TB SSDs) for the gains in speed alone, then to answer your third question.... yes

From the Z270 perspective, there *may* be enhanced Audio solutions & SLI support among other things - including colour schemes & overall aesthetics..
From a "can they support >2400MHz RAM, overclocking, RAID etc" yes, all Z270 chipset boards can.

From the 1070, it's mostly brand recognition. While some chips are binned better and can run faster, all else being equal: MSI/ASUS/MSI etc will cost more for a comparable card vs Zotac or Palit among others. The fact you had selected one of ASUS's more 'budget' offerings is pretty much testament to how consumers view the brands.

That being said, some higher end cards (ASUS Strix, EVGA SSC ACX etc) are generally binned & clocked higher - so they will perform a little better. There is absolutely no reason to dodge Palit or Zotac though (Zotac as getting there from a recongition standpoint.... their cards are available in most regions. Palit are still somewhat localized in Europe - you can't buy a Palit cards retail in north America AFAIK)

As for the OS for 75quid, providing it's legit - that's a smokin' price!

Why though? If it's simply "because", then you're definitely in wasting money territory.

If your Raid 0s ever break for some reason you're SOL and have to reinstall and start over from scratch.
You're also extremely unlikely to ever reach those max speeds outside of benchmarks.
