Hey guys,

I just purchased a new Samsung 960 EVO SSD and installed it in my PCIE Express port and came across a problem.

With the addition of this SSD I will now have 3 total drives; my OS-SSD, Storage HDD, and new SSD. Whenever the new SSD is connected, the old SDD and the new SSD show up and the HDD "disappears" from my computer like it never even existed. Under the disk management tab of "My Computer," the old SSD appears and the new SSD appears as unpartitioned (as it should). No matter what I do the HDD doesn't seem to show up anywhere and as soon as I disconnect my new SSD and reboot my computer, my HDD appears again like nothing ever happened. I have disconnected my old HDD and all of the connectors are fine and like i said, everything goes back to normal once I disconnect my new SSD. Any help is appreciated on this and thanks in advance for your time!

Which motherboard do you have?

Some boards will disable certain SATA ports when an M.2 is populated. Sounds like what's happening here. It's be on the manufacturer's spec page for your motherboard, &/or in the manual.

As was mentioned, how many sata ports do you have? Do you also have optical drives using sata connections? You could be simply running out of sata ports being available once that m2 drive is installed.
