system Specs
CPU: QX9650 LGA 775
Mainboard: Intel DX38BT
Current Video Card: Nvidia 9800GTX+
Memory 8GB DDR3 10666

I am looking to replace my video card I usually use NVidia, I have not use an ATi in a long time since the days of AGP. I think my mainboard supports PCIe. But I think the board does PCIe 2X. The issue that I found out was that my mainboard is not UEFI compatible. Or at least that is what I was able to gather from the info on the internet. anybody that can help me with that too I would really appreciate it. I am running a legacy BIOS.

What video card can I use to be able to do some gaming on my computer, ie Crysis, Doom Wolfenstein, Skyrim, etc?
People say I cant go higher than a GTX 6XX or 7XX. Is This accurate?
Any body that knows a good GTX card that can work with what I have?

Ill Take some suggestions on ATI card as well. Was hoping for some info.

Thanks in Advance.

Unless the Evga folks know something special about the Intel motherboard that I don't, it should have no problem with any Nvidia card; UEFI or BIOS. Most Nvidia cards auto switch the BIOS w/o issue. I had one Intel board from about that era that yours is (but not that high-end). It balked at Rx-gen AMD cards and newer. But ran every Nvidia card I tried. And I have a lot of new and older cards. Obviously I can't gaurantee anything, but I would not hesitate putting an Nvidia card in there if it were mine. (besides, mid-range and higher AMD cards are non existent now anyway)

$200 will get you a GTX 1050 Ti. Should be good for near max settings in Doom 2016 @ 1080p if you use the Vulkan API. For ~$50 more, you can get a GTX 1060...

You should be able to use any Nvidia PCIe x16 gfx card. Not knowing your budget or your PSU make/model, I'm going out on a limb here...
But that 3GHz quad core extreme should be able to keep up with a GTX 1050 Ti. I'd even go for a GTX 1060 myself.

Have you played Doom 2016 yet? You seem to like some of the same games as me.

I am running a 650W PSU Cool Master. Since it is a older PC did not want to sink much money IDK anything under $200 maybe I might go higher if the card is worth it. I was looking maybe into 2GB to 4GB on the video card memory. Something like that. I was on IM with EVGA and they are the ones that told me about the UEFI limitation. So that's why I was looking for some suggestions for the card.

Yes I have Played Doom 2016 on my Xbox one. Wanted to see if I can run it on my PC, hence why I am looking for a card.
