I just built a new gaming PC with 8GB (2x4GB) of DDR3 RAM installed in the motherboard. When I open my PC properties, however, it only shows that 4GB are installed. It doesn't say "4GB installed, 8GB usable" or anything of that sort - it simply only shows 4GB and nothing more. Could one of my RAM sticks or DIMM slots be faulty? Any hardware fixes that could help?

I'm running Windows 10 Home, 64 bit. My motherboard is an MSI 970 Gaming.

UPDATE: I cracked open my chassis and found that one of my RAM sticks hadn't been completely installed in the DIMM slot. I swapped the sticks and made sure to push them all the way down, and that fixed it! So to anybody who has this problem or something similar; make sure your RAMs are COMPLETELY installed in your DIMM slots before resorting to other solutions! Also, if you have two RAM sticks and are having trouble using them both in a dual channel configuration, be sure to consult your motherboard's manual; there should be instructions on the proper dual channel configuration (typically it's DIMM slots 1 and 3, or 2 and 4).
