So I recently upgraded my Pc to an I5 6600k and got a new motherboard with it wich is the MSI B250 M3.After I installed the os and all the drivers I need I wanted go in my BIOS to check if I was able to overclock my newly bought cpu.But once I was in BIOS in the overclock section I was trying to put my cpu ratio from auto to 46,I was going for 4.6 ghz overclock. But for some reason I was only able to all the way up to 39 using the + key on my numpad. So my question is,is it possible to overclock my I5 6600k with my MSI B250 M3 motherboard?

Solution
You won't be able to overclock on a b250 board. For full access to multipliers and things you'll need a z series board like a z270. The reason it's stopping at 3.9 (x39 multiplier) is because that's the top turbo speed for that cpu at stock. Anything over stock is overclocking and isn't supported.
