So I have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find a clear answer. I am going to buy the Intel Core i7-7740X processor, GIGABYTE AORUS X299 AORUS Gaming 7 motherboard, and G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4266 ram. The mobo supports the 4266 ram speed but the processor says it only supports 2666 ram speed. If I put these parts together will I get 4266 or 2666 ram speed. If the answer is no then is there any way to get the speed to 4266?

Solution
Its a new plateform so you shouldn't expect that speed right off the bat. All RAM can run at lower speeds so you should get a much higher speed than 2666. Given time tho the motherboard maker and Intel should get the speed going. Stablity see is a fine line when all new parts come out. Speed upto 3600+ tho should work off the bat.
