Need advice on my processor and options

Hi all, i have a i5 processor at the moment and it has started to struggle when I play and also stream to twitch with the newer games...

I want to upgrade to an i7 but the socket on my motherboard is 1150.. what is THE BEST 1150 processor I can get and will it be good enough? I could do with avoiding upgrading my mobo and therefor also the ram to DDR4 if I can help it as I dont have much money at the moment! :(

Please advise what the best 1150 i7 is and whether its going to be a good improvement to my i5 4670...

The best cpu you can get is the i7 4790k which runs at 4.0ghz with a boost to 4.4ghz on one core. The K allows for overclocking but I dont think you you have a motherboard for that? What motherboard do you have?

You could also have a look at the i7 4790 non k, its basically the same cpu but clocked 400mhz lower (3.6-4.0ghz) If have this myself in combo with a gt x 1070 and they work like a charm, though I dont stream or anything. :)

What gpu do you have? Also how much ram?

Sorry for late reply! been mega busy! I have an ASUS Z87-A mobo, 16gb of DDR3 ram and a EVGA FTW 970. I know the processor is the bit that is struggling with the streaming and playing as its only a none K i5 4670 so I cant even turn it up a bit! :(

I just want to know whether an 1150 socket i7 k model will solve the problem for long enough or whether i need to do a big overhaul i.e mobo DDR4 and a later i7 (hope not)! :eek:

The streaming software does give a message saying high cpu encoding blah blah turn down your setting etc (they are turned down) haha!
