Best CPU for GTX 1080

So I've recently gotten my new ACER XB271HU monitor and a GTX 1080. I feel as though my current CPU- the i5 4590, is too much of a bottleneck for the 1080, as I can't maintain a solid 144hz @ 1440p on a non-demanding game like Overwatch. I'm wondering what CPU I should get to eliminate the bottleneck. I will also need a new motherboard to pair with the CPU. I don't usually stream/record gameplay, but that might change in the near future. I also want to multitask when gaming, say listen to music and have multiple tabs open. RAM will also be on my list of things to get, as I currently have 8GB DDR3 1600MHz.

If you want to do anything while gaming, as you noted: Ryzen 1600, 1600x or 1700, depending on your overclocking needs/desires. 3200+ speed RAM in 2x8GB and you'll be very happy. There are countless threads here about these CPU builds if your are curious what others suggested.

Chugalug_ is on the right track, although you shouldn't need to upgrade to an i7 just yet.

Your system should be able to handle Overwatch with ease. At worst, your i5 would be down ~25% in performance compared to an i7 chip (http://www.techspot.com/review/1180-overwatch-benchmarks/page5.html), which is also about the margin of performance gain a GTX 1080TI has over the GTX 1080 (http://www.techspot.com/review/1352-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti/page5.html)...which means your system should easily be able to maintain 144FPS @ 1440p (http://www.techspot.com/review/1180-overwatch-benchmarks/page3.html).

Have you checked to make sure nothing is running in the background that's sucking up system resources -- no open tabs, no streaming, nothing like that? Also, is the performance consistent yet sub-144FPS, or does it lag up & down? Does it only happen in Overwatch or all games? And have you checked your temps?

The thing is, the two websites I always buy from doesn't sell i7 4790/k. They only have the new 6th and 7th gens in stock.
As for the system resources question, I always have everything closed when gaming. I can get atleast 110 fps, but it occasionally dips to 90 ish and it averages around 130.

The temps are fine. Overwatch won't be the only game I play. I'm just looking for a suitable CPU that won't bottleneck the GTX 1080 in any future graphic demanding games.

Goodnight. And unless it's a very good deal, then i'm not too keen on buying from UK/Germany. I'll link you the two websites I use. Maybe you could find a suitable Mobo/Ram/CPU combo under €500?
