PC gaming while on the road?

I travel a lot for work and absolutely love PC gaming. I have a PC at home, but the tower is too huge and I don't feel like lugging the tower, monitor, etc every where I go. Some jobs I'm on only last for a few days, others last for 6+ weeks. Therefore I'm looking at getting a laptop. I have a Microcenter and a Best Buy near me right now where I'm at on my current job, so I've already stopped in and checked out some of the MSI's and ASUS ROG's they have in stock. Price isn't really a huge problem, I already know top of the line laptops can get pricey. However, I like to play some pretty CPU intensive games such as ArmA 3. I probably play it the most honestly, and was wondering if an i7-7700HQ would be enough to get a solid frame rate to play online? Or would it be worth it to spend the extra money for an i7-7700k laptop that I would have to order online that a store may not have in stock? I'm also okay with waiting until I'm home and ordering a laptop from Newegg or somewhere that Best Buy and microcenter may not have in stock. I've also considered an m-ITX build, but that still leaves taking components out of the case and transporting them separately, and trying to make sure my monitor doesn't get smashed in the back of one of the trucks or in the trailer we're hauling. Basically just wanting some opinions or ideas of what I should do.

Solution
Because it has all those specs and a 120Hz screen while having an SSD, which others for the same price lack.
MSI laptops come with quite a bit of bloatware out of the factory though, I believe they're making a tool to uninstall what you don't want with newer ones, but with this you'll need to control panel uninstall them.
Watch Gamers Nexus' video on it for a more in depth view on it.
Not possible to play online in a moving vehicle if that's another possible question. :p
An ITX build in something like the Node 202 works, but you need a powerpoint, and you'd have to drag along a monitor.
A laptop is the way to go for you.
Budget?
Would you like a mouse and compact keyboard included?
A 7700HQ laptop is perfect.

I think a laptop is fine. I used a alienware m17x r3 while work travelling for a couple years. It plays fine. I don't think you'll notice a lot of issues with it. I would suggest getting a headset as playing on a system that compact is likely to get loud in an effort to keep things cool.

As the system ages the biggest issue I've had is keeping the drivers current. I bought mine with win7 and transitioned to win10 a few years later, Dell/alienware did not release drivers compatible for win10. So I've had to kludge certain drivers in. Other drivers and software just don't exist on the website anymore. You may also want to consider buying a spare battery or two and power supply. As the system ages it gets very hard to find replacements. I had to go through 3 different sellers to find someone who made a battery that fit.

At the end of the day it was totally worth it. But gaming laptops are a bit like F1 cars they can go really fast but require a lot of upkeep.

Yeah, they are heavy bastards. Though there are some nicer machines on the market now that offer reasonable performance without so much weight. More like a supercar sticking to the previous analogy. As for the heat. I didn't really have a lot of problems with that on my alienware. There were some hot spots between the keyboard and screen but nothing that would burn.

Yeah I'm not too worried about heat or noise. The laptop will be placed on the desk in my hotel room 90% of the time while I'm out of town. And for the noise I have a good set of headphones. But you all think the 7700HQ would be plenty to run CPU intensive games? One laptop I was looking at was $1600 for the 7700HQ, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM. While I'm Newegg I've found laptops with the 7700K and similar other specs for about $400-$700 more

Or what laptop/brand would you recommend. I'd like the 7700 of course, HQ or K version whichever you all think would be better. At least a 1070 GPU, a decent SSD and HDD and at least 16GB of ram

ever looked at the Razer blade pro laptop series ?

of course the price tag goes with the hardware... but I doubt you will need to change it anytime soon and should compete with any desktop out there easily enough

if I can keep it under $2,000 I'd be happy. But if I have to go over that for the right buy I will, like I said not "hugely" worried about price. But also don't want to spend $3500 on something that's not worth it. I'm looking at 17" laptops though because I enjoy a bigger screen for a better experience, or at least to me it is. I've looked at some ASUS, MSI, and the Acer Predator 17's. Just not sure which one to go for. The Best Buy down here has the ASUS GL702 with the 7700HQ, GTX 1070, 16GB ram, SSD and 1TB HDD for $1600. The MSI they had in stock also had similar specs but I believe it only had a GTX 1060
