I check my download speed n ping on speedtest with steam closed and it was fine (30 ping 10 mbs download speed) then i openned steam and checked it again and the ping was the same but the download speed dropped drammaticly to ~2mbs.Anyone knows whats goin on?Maybe it is a coincidence i don't know.

Change the server you are accessing steam from, also make sure you have nothing downloading in steam

on the bottom of the screen should be a progress bar if you're downloading something, or if you roll over 'games' at the top and click 'downloads' it'll be there too.
To change servers: "open Steam’s settings by clicking the Steam menu in Steam and selecting Settings. Click over to the Downloads tab and select the closest download server from the Download Region box.
