I have a computer I would like to slowly upgrade. I have an Acer Aspire TC-120 The motherboard is a DAA78L/Kara_MB Micro ATX. I was given another motherboard A GIGABYTE GA-F2A78M-HD2 REV.3.0. My purpose is to use this PC for streaming, netflix, hulu, youtube, etc... and some gaming. I just would like to know which one I should keep. any help would be fantastic.

Again, any board will work. Most likely, they are both out of warranty so no real issue there. The chip is 4-5 years old as well. So just go with teh Gigabyte and call it a day. That Acer motherboard is just an OEM board. At least with the Gigabyte, you will get a few more features. I wouldn't suggest gaming on it either.

However, I would advise AGAINST investing any more into this build until you are willing to do a full overhaul to either AM4 or even Intel.
Well, either way, you are using an outdated socket, and it's a dead end either way you go. For streaming, I hope you don't plan on doing it in 4K on Netflix. Also, for gaming, it will depend on the CPU and GPU you have. Honestly, either motherboard will work as they are pretty much similar. I don't expect that you need all of the features.

just looking to run standard 1080p HD My CPU is an AMD A10-6800K Quad. I dont have a GPU yet. i just would like to know which one would perform better, maybe more reliable. Also if you have any suggestions on any other MB that would fit my case and wouldnt break the bank, I would also be open to any suggestions.

I completely get what your saying. I know its not a high end PC or even up to date. Just looking to enjoy my media with little to no problems. I am currently using the Gigabyte MB I like it just wanted to get some opinions or views on the 2. I plan on adding some more ram and a graphics card just to stabilize the performance. What would you suggest for a decent AM4 MB? I am not opposed to upgrading. I would like to kill 2 birds with one stone. get away from cable companies, and gaming consoles. So if you have any suggestions i would appreciate them. Thanks in advance..!!

Well if you go AM4, that means upping the CPU and RAM as well. A nice Ryzen 5 1400 or 1500 will do you just fine. Also any B350, whether it's GB, MSI, Asus, AsRock, will also do you just fine. Again, don't invest into this board because it's a dead end, and when you upgrade, you will have to get more RAM becasue the older board you have uses DDR3 where AM4 uses DDR4.

ok so i just purchased from amazon all for less than $500.00

-GA-AB350 GAMING MOBO.
-RYZEN 5 1500X
-ROSWELL STALLION 500 WATT PSU
-Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s
-VIVO ATX Mid Tower Computer Gaming PC Case / Black Desktop Shell / 3 Fan Mounts, Dual USB 3.0

Works for me...however, I would have gotten a corsair CX450m power supply. Also do realize that the 'x' series is pointless in book. The non-x series can be overclocked to meet the x series speed, and more. Not to mention, you still need a cooler.

Can you cancel the CPU and get the non-x? Also what about a corsair cx450m? Newegg has it for $30 after rebate: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139146&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

AND ONE MORE THING YOU NEED A GPU!

I didn't think you would order right then on the spot. The Ryzen chips don't have a built in GPU like your APU does. That's why it's cheaper! I could have probably built you a list that you could have used.

It is Intel based, but it's a great starter pack that packs a punch. Later on, you could add a GPU to it and continue to game. But right now, you don't need since the chip has built-in graphics. Not sure which Vivo you got, but you can include your own. Also didn't include a hard drive, but 1TB is really cheap, only $50.

would this processor handle Call of duty, grand theft 5, etc... also what would be a decent graphics card? i cancelled my order and am looking into your suggestions. thank you friend for taking the time to help me out.

It can handle it, but only to give instructions to a GPU. Without it, it will probably be unplayable. The GTX 1050 Ti is probably the best card out right now for a budget. Just google G4560 + 1050 Ti and you will see the results.
