That is my PC rigs specs.

My CPU is:

The CPU idles at about 35-40 C. Soon as it hits 50/60 C however, boom, the fan goes absolutely into overdrive and becomes extremely (and irritatingly loud).

My chassis is old, about 5 years old with only 2 stock fans.

I am thinking of buying this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01KVNCEIG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1AUCPBF2P18HS&psc=1

Would that be sufficient to cool down my computer (I am looking for a fairly quiet machine please) or would I better off getting a better model?

Should I upgrade the chassis/case fans as well? Or would a new cpu heatsink be sufficient ?

I am a gamer :) And yes, I love gaming, but for now I am just looking for a nice quiet machine, rather than something that sounds like a jet engine taking off whenever I even start playing Age of Mythology which imo is not a very taxing game!

PS: I have set my BIOS settings to "silent", for the fan, but despite that; my CPU is still very loud.

Solution
Idle temps are good. (not sure of how your loading your CPU, but the 50/60º C temp is good too.)

What is your current CPU cooling solution? Stock HSF (Heatsink & Fan, like you placed a link for)? Some other HSF?

Getting another cooling solution might just take care of it, but then, a better fan on your current one might work too, if that is even possible.

Try to make sure cables aren't choking airflow too.

Adding extra case fans might help, but what brand and model of case do you have right now?

1) My current heatsink is the stock one, the heatsink that was sold with the processor. (Stock HSF)
2) I do not know what brand/model of case I have, got it five years ago, and was a pretty cheap one at that, sorry. Doesn't seem to have any name/branding on it, so probably some OEM junk

Stock coolers tend to get noisy to start with, so replacing it, until you're ready to do a complete system upgrade (hang on to the mounting hardware. It will allow you to move the new cooler to the newer build.)

Not knowing what brand and case makes things a little more difficult as we don't have a clue on how much clearance there is for a new cooler. Would hate to get one too large for the case. You may need to measure the clearance with a good old-fashioned ruler or tape measure (Wood would be ideal.) That measurement will dictate how tall the replacement cooler is.
