Hello all good tech people,

i'm owner of old laptop, ASUS N53SN. I'm wondering if there is any way how to make more USB ports on my motherboard?? ... in case i don't want to use usb hub for splitting the electric power... hdmi port is not working for example, could i replace it with usb?

More USB ports on a laptop? No.

You could use a USB splitter, turning one port into ~3 or more (some require external power).

No way to replace an HDMI port with USB.

Not really is the answer. What is it you are afraid of by using a USB hub? If its battery power, then it will only really make a big difference when you have larger, power hungry peripheral devices connected. This is really the only way to 'add' more USB connections.

With the HDMI not working, I would have suggested a USB to HDMI adaptor, but these need a USB 3.0 connection, and yours will be USB 2.0 (not a fast enough transfer rate)

Hope this helps!

K.
