I just got a 1TB WB HDD today, and plugged it in with the SATA and power cable, only to find that it wasn't showing up. I check disk management, and it wasn't there either. It isn't in the bios (but the SATA cable shows, and it isn't the cables either: I've switched all the cables from my current SSD to this new HDD, and to no avail.
Is there anything I haven't tried? Could it just be a faulty HDD?

So, I can see it in disk management now, but it looks a bit odd. It shows up as a 935gb disk, which looks about right, but when I right click it gives me these options:
-Convert to dynamic disk
-Convert to MBR disk
-Offline
-Properties
-Help
There are also some greyed out options, all of which end in 'Volume'. All the guides I've looked at say it should have an 'Initialise', but it isn't there. The disk is listed as 'Unallocated' as well, not sure if that means anything.
