Yeah, as The Yeti said - it's predominantly the AMD cards. They're getting sold out fast, and what ones remain seem to have vastly overinflated prices.
The lack of AMD card availability is, I suspect, inflating the price of Nvidia cards to some extent.

So not true, look at 1060 3gb on pcp. Every one is sold out or over $220. The 6gb model is super inflated right now https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=373
