MSI RX 480 problems fps inconsistencies and stuttering

My specs are: msi b150 motherboard, 16gb ddr4 gskill ram, samsung evo 250gb and 1tb wd, 600w evga powersupply, msi rx480 8gb gpu

So for a while now, i've been having multiple problems with lag and fps drops with my graphics card and almost every time ive updated my graphics card drivers, the problem gets worse. I've gotten many bsod's and my monitor has flickered occasionally (with particular graphic card updates). Most of the time to fix these problems, i've had to reroll my drivers.

I don't know if this could be related but my mouse cursor seems to be dragging (almost lagging) after every few seconds and I am not sure if it is my mouse. I have a logitech g502 and ive had it for 2 years almost so it's still a little bit new.

Any help is appreciated, thank you :)

Firstly, you need to isolate the problem and make sure its the GPU and not an instance of hardware failure elsewhere, what error do you get on the BSOD screens?
Second, I would reinstall your drivers for the GPU specifically, and make sure the other drivers in your pc are up to date.
Third, if you remove the GPU and use the integrated graphics on your CPU, does the issue persist?

how do you recommend me isolating the problem? I have in the past reinstalled all my drivers but I guess I should do that once more. Is there an easy way to check if my drivers are up to date? When I go to device manager, it says my drivers are their latest versions but I do not know if it actually correct or incorrect. Lastly, when I take out my gpu, should I do anything else? Like before I take it out, what should I do so I do not damage my gpu and any other pieces of hardware. Also, once I take out my gpu and run my pc for the first time after, it should be using my processors (i5-6500) integrated graphics right away unless I need to do something else for that to happen?

Well primarily, since you're experiencing stuttering and other graphics issues. Make sure your gpu's drivers and mobo's BIOS is up to date on msi's website.

If the stuttering continues, just power off the system and remove the graphics card, plug your monitor into the video out on the mobo and restart. Your pc will utilize the I GPU on the chip. If the stuttering continues beyond that. It could be an outdated driver. its best to check them manually on each manufacturers website rather than windows but windows does give a good representation of what is out of date. best to double check.

Oddly enough my mom recently had an issue with a logitech trackball where the drivers gave her BSOD's so a fresh install of windows and reinstalling the mouse drivers worked as well. So worse comes to worse, give that a shot.
