need an excellent gaming experience for Arma 3

Hey guys I'm looking for a good motherboard and a processor that can handle nearly any game. Price isn't exactly an issue but cheap is good if it's out there. I currently have a ASUS abbxm plus and a as rock 970 extreme4 motherboard to choose from each one has a different processor fit. So a processor that fits to the best of those motherboards and if necessary a motherboard and processor that will give me the best gaming experience.

You have an outdated motherboard and I would not put any money into that platform. I would upgrade sockets to an AM4 (R5 1600) or a 1151 (i57600k). You will need a B350 motherboard or a Z270 to run those processors. Pending on where you live you can find a deal on those for around $300.

But for a gaming rig you should invest most of your money in the GPU. The processor does not have nearly the impact on quality and performance for games that a GPU does.

Give us a budget and you will get a lot of good ideas for a system build on this site.
