Hello guys.
I need some advice about what mobo to pick for the soon to be bought ryzen 1500x/1600.
I've narrowed it down to Gigabyte Gaming 3, AsRock Fat K4(Pro 4 looks the same w/o the bling bling) and MSI Tomahawk.
I've been reading for hours about them and Gigabyte has better USB and audio, MSI is the best at OCing and AsRock is in between. I'm looking for performance, so the bonus stuff of GB is not so wow. The issue with GB overcloking seemed to be the non-heatsink VRMs, but I've been reading about adding some for a better cooling. I could use faster USB, but I wouldn't trade it for lower OC.

I'm also interested in their mATX counterparts, but for example the smaller Tomahawk doesn't have top heatsinks, so the quality of the OC might be lower than a AsRock Pro4 mATX. Same goes for Gigabyte. But if I can fix that with aftermarket heatsinks, then this point is moot.

I understand the heatsinks are not the only ones responsible for good OC, but the phases seem the same for all of them, GB has 4(real)+3 and has the smallest OC perf.

Anyway, would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks a lot.

Edit: I'm going to use a cubish case and 200mm intake. I can't use the 2x2x120mm fan/radiator/fan on the back due to GPU socket close to the CPU. What layout will be better?
200mm intake + 2x120mm top exaust + 140mm exhaust
200mm intake + 2x120mm top intake(good for VRM since mobo is horizontal?) + 140 mm exhaust
2x120mm intake + 140mm exhaust?

For OC focused, the Taichi is hard to beat. Steller reviews and more than enough headroom.

Of those you listed, I have seen the Tomahawk in many reviews and generally liked. It scores pretty well in head to head comparisons. I would lean toward that over the Fatality simply because I don't care for the looks of the Fatality. Overall, I think ASRock gets good scores but their bios updates are not as frequent as MSI.

I think you come down to feature sets. SATA connectors, USB connectors... VRMs... and looks.

As for fans, age old argument of positive pressure vs negative. I think overall, add up your cubic feet per minute for each fan and try to have a bit more intake over exhaust. Match fans accordingly. The true test is after the build and monitoring your temps and toying with fans to get it optimal.

Thanks for the help. I'm leaning towards MSI also. I'll used one SSD and one HDD, so that's ok. USB gen 2 missing is not wow, but I used a stick maybe 2-3 times in 2 years.

Taichi is waaaay over my budget. For fans I'm thinking 200 front, 120 side for the GPU since the PCIe is not next to the case and 140 back exhaust, 2x120 radiator to the other side of the case. This way I'm having 2 sides intake and 2 sides exhaust. Not the best, but I hope it will work.

Thanks for the suggestions.
