Hi I built a computer for my dad with a few old but presumably good parts. However, after not starting, a repair shop told me something like the motherboard cannot handle the newer power supply. Ideally I would like to be able to keep as many current parts as possible. What should I buy? What's the best value option? Low budget, just looking for parts to get the computer in working order. Bells and whistles unnecessary. Thank you!

Seems you're right. So far I've determined that one of my sticks of ram is dead. Thank you.
