HDD problem after cloning

I bought an Orico 2HDD docking station (model 6629us3-c) which has a switch for cloning disks.

I wanted to transfer my entire 1GB to a new 2GB disk and thought it would be a good idea using that clone mode.
But, what happened was that I now have a 2TB disk split in 2 1TB partitions (the second is unallocated) not being able to do anything with them to restore them back to one piece.

I tried to format the unallocated part within the Disk Management but it always returns an error "access denied".

Do you have any suggestions?

Frequently the disk-cloning program bundled with these dual-bay docking stations will clone the contents of the source disk to the destination disk only to the extent of the size of the source disk. So in your situation only a 1 TB partition will be created on the 2 TB destination drive. The remaining disk-space on the 2 TB drive will be unallocated. If that's what occurred, it's simple enough to remedy. Just use Disk Management and select the option on the 2 TB drive to "Extend Volume" so that the 1 TB partition will encompass all the unallocated disk-space on the 2 TB drive.

Unfortunately, I get the same error message "access is denied". Do you think a low level format will do the trick?
I have also tried a couple of programs to erase every existing partition but I always get the same.
